Last day on the Pismo Beach sand

Wrapping up a week here is tough. Although a little expensive at $50 a night with hook-ups, Avila Bay is so worth it with views like this. (yeah, why is she reading and not looking...I know!)

This morning we went out for a drive to Pismo Beach. Only $4 for a 4 mile, hard packed sand road, with waves breaking just feet from the car. We did see one guy trying to dig his truck out while several trailers and motorhomes were parked, camping on the beach. I'll stick to a hard packed parking with full hook-ups if you don't mind.:-)

Other than the dune buggies and sand rails, there were also jet skiers chasing pelicans...not sure that is legal.

We spent quite a bit of time watching the Western Sandpipers run up and down the beach dodging waves and grabbing sandcrabs for breakfast. Fast little buggers!

There are hundreds, if not thousands of western sandpipers within just the few miles we drove.

Donna's favorite past time...shell hunting.

We went up on a cliff and Donna kept trying to scare me because of the silly "fear of heights" I have.

Do I look scared, really?

As our night and stay come to a close, the pelicans put on quite a show for us to remember them by...just to hard to photograph. Donna did send for a limo...first "hot rod" limo I have ever seen.
