Coarsegold and Bass lake

All set up here at "Park of the Sierra's" near Coarsegold, Ca. Very nice SKP Co-op park with 258 well placed and spacious sites for the next ten days or so.

Can't beat a view like this unless there were ocean wave instead of trees?

One great thing about the SKP Park is we are within spitting distance of the Chukchuansi Gold Casino. If we run a little low on cash I can put Donna to work on the 21 game...:-)

Last time I was at Bass Lake might of been in the late 1950's. Our folks always spent the summer camping a few weeks in Yosemite or Sequoia N.P. but one year I remember camping at Bass Lake, Ca.

This stump would normally be under water at this time of year

While the late 50's was a long time ago, I do remember the lake having much more water. This year it was decided to nearly empty the lake to do some seismic tests on the dam. It happens so far to be one of the driest years on record. Had they picked last year to do it, they could of emptied the lake completely and filled it the next week...it was that wet of a year.
