The Sacramento Bend Scenic Byway.

The "Bend" in the back hills of Anderson, Ca is a very picturesque and photogenic, off the beaten path drive.

Very old and super cool "one lane" bridge.

There are quite a few of these rock, or stone, walls and many explanations of just who built them.
Some say the Portuguese, Italians but most think it was Chinese labor. A law in 1866 pertaining to damages from trespassing livestock seems to have pushed the advancement of the walls.

Lots of old, old barns dot the landscape.

Donna loves red barns.

Did I say it was a scenic byway?

Donna caught the barely visabile Osprey nest on top of the right tower.

Lucky for me there was a dirt road so we could get nearer to the nest... not close but at least closer.
