More Birds of Prey

When we took a trip to the Hat Creek area we were rewarded with some great Osprey sightings.

The day started with the rare site of a Turkey    Vulture on the ground.

We saw this nest 4 years ago at the very same spot. Either it's the same parents or maybe the offspring of the parents?

The nest is sitting about two hundred yards off the road.

Near Crystal Lake on Hat Creek we were very lucky to view this Osprey having a late lunch.

It's has if he is saying "You eye balling my food"!

While watching the above Osprey I noticed another one over the lake with a dinner in his talons.

A half hour later, we see a second Osprey on different pole having dinner.

These are truly some beautiful creatures of the wilderness.

There is a White Pelican on the lake that looked like it had some sort of growth on it's beak.

On the way home Donna mentioned that this is a good area for Bald Eagles, why haven't we seen any?
Just a short time later as we were looking at Hat Creek from the Hwy 89 bridge and up pops a Bald Eagle.

We watched it soar for a minute before the eagle disappeared in the woods.

Donna's "atta boy" afterward for spotting the eagle.

Awesome pics! What camera are you using? How long did you have to wait to get there? Must have been late in the day when you took the pic of Donna....long shadow!
