Leaving Spokane

Our granddaughter Ashley wanted to show us her "barbie" collection before we left town.

OMG! This little girl has more than 30 barbies, all with their own names and outfits. That's her baby in the middle that she carries around all day and night. The baby eats at the table with us and we occasionally have to check the diaper. HaHa

While Granny was out shopping, Ashley was left in my care and her look tells me that she might be a little concerned about hanging with an old fogy.

Ashley and I decided to head across the parking lot because Tuesday night is "Bluegrass" night at the Spokane Elks Lodge. There were about 6 musicians, all with their favorite playing instrument and this very nice lady was explaining the autoharp to Ashely.

Like any child, Ashley was a little hesitant to get up and dance since no one else was... but after one dance with her Opa, I couldn't keep her off the floor. :-)

I'm trying to upload video so iPhones and iPads can view
but am having trouble....so here is a single photo. Here is video address for iPhones and iPads.

I'll be the first to admit not understanding little girls since I never had any. We were going to a weekend auction in Spokane that is a favorite for locals. On Friday they had a "preview" day and from that day to Sunday, all Ashley could talk about was this little pink dish. I on the other hand would of gone for the full size taxidermy buffalo...but that's just me. I bid in secret and won the bowl but waited three days to surprise her with it. Ashley was so excited over this bowl that Granny and I were blown away.

One of the last things we did in the Spokane area was to go to Carver Farms to pick our own veggies.

While these are the freshest veggies I have ever had, after 15 minutes of picking strawberries I was dying!

Denny, Laura and Ashely came up to Colville to visit with us and go to the Northeast Washington State Fair...It's always a good time at small town fairs.

Ashley had a beautiful unicorn painted on her arm...

Ha ha...they even dyed a sheep to show the different cuts of meat. It reminded me not to hang around too long or I might end up "Soylent Green". (thought he was tie dyed at first)

The rumors of leprosy are not true, but I sure don't mind the extra room while camping. :-) Chewelah Casino at $12 night, what a deal.

The Kettle River...why I can see "Canada" from here, ha ha!

More later in the week........

I have no doubt she will remember this forever even without the video.

Well done Opa!
