First few days in North Fork, Idaho

Arrived in North Fork, Idaho and found our place for the next month. I have stayed at the River's Fork Lodge in the motel once a couple of years ago but have always wanted to stay at the RV park...now we can.

Well, that day finally came and we are here to stay in our motorhome.

Some of my neighbors came for a few days and one is still here after 3 weeks with no sign of leaving. That's a great testament to the park but the owner is have trouble rearranging his bookings.

Donna sprucing up the place.

This is a  memorial for two firemen who lost their lives in the 2003 Cramer fire.

We talked to the host of the firefighter area Bill...very friendly fellow that told us the in and outs of working with the U. S. Forestry Service.

The bald eagle was one of the first birds of prey we came upon.

A mother osprey and her fledgling.

This mother had three fledglings, one not showing.

Donna spotted this immature bald eagle on the rivers bank.

The immature eagle in flight.

You just can't go down a dirt road without seeing a buck or two.

This beaver was busy gathering limbs and branches for next winter.

The elk came out in the evening.

Bought two used tubes so Mike and I will try them out first before we offer the womenfolk a ride

My first attempt was less than spectacular much to everyone's amusement. What the hell... it's only been 40 years since the last time.

Heck, it's like riding a bike...it came back to me quickly. During our beautiful 3 mile trip I did think on occasion that life jackets may of been prudent for a couple old geezers floating in a river?

Later that evening I tried my hand at some fishing.

Caught a decent little wild  trout...it had it's adipose fin still attached. Of course he or she, went right back into the water.

Benji and Missy approved of my fishing technique.

Our day closes with a gorgeous full moon.
