Hot, hot and more heat. My promise to Donna is broken after only two years. I promised we would move if it got warmer than 100 degrees but the heat wave was so invasive throughout the west that I couldn't get away of it.
We left Arlington on Monday...a day too late, damn!
Our first two days in Clarkston the temperature was 106, then 104 and humid before finally settling down to normal temps. We spent most of the time in the motorhome trying to stay comfortable.
After the third day we were able to sit outside and have a glass of wine or a cold beer without being uncomfortable.
Ashley's mom and dad came back two days later and were surprised that we didn't "break" their daughter.
We found a little creek that feeds into the Clearwater River that was unusually warm. We saw lots of fish and "water scooters" which are like spiders that skim on the surface.
Ashley and I liked to just float on the surface, in the warm, warm water.
A couple of beach bathing beauties.....
Hey, our 4th of July dinner isn't just going to materialize all by itself...girls.
"Where is my food"? Na, we were just hanging out waiting for it to cool down a touch before eating.
We had a great meal before the fireworks show in Clarkston, which was one of the best Donna and I had seen in years.
I"ll leave the day with the "peach" of a granddaughter eating a peach herself...goodnight.

The place Opa found to watch fireworks down there was well worth the drive.
We have quickly found out Granny's secret sauce is great on just about everything, thanks for sharing.
